Schools are amongst Bala Sport’s biggest customers, both primary and secondary. The Bala Team, Astro and Pro balls are highly suited for schools as they’re all very durable balls, hand stitched for toughness. The Bala Play balls come in 3 sizes and are particularly suitable for primary schools. We have balls for play on grass, on artificial grass and indoors (futsal).
Our rugby balls come in sizes 4 and 5 in a good training quality Team ball, and a higher quality Pro match ball in size 5 only. These will be on sale later this month (June 17).

“There are so many big sports balls companies but Bala Sport gives an extra 10% benefit to the workers in the factories and this is something we want to promote as a school”.
Dominic Tollan, PE Teacher, Gleniffer High School.
Bla Sport will soon be offering Fairtrade volley balls for sale (Autumn 2017). These balls have been developed in consultation with the Scottish Volleyball Association and will in fact be the Official Schools Volleyball of the Scottish Volleyball Association.
We’re very proud that we even have two Scottish schools so far as member/ investors in our co-operative; Gleniffer High in Paisley and Greenwood Academy in Irvine.
We are developing some resources for primary school teachers around Fairtrade sports balls and would welcome your input and suggestions. We are currently testing these resources, please check them out here and let us know your thoughts or drop Angus an email.
The Fairtrade Foundation Schools Team made this great video about Fairtrade football production. It shows Bala Sport’s hand-stitched Fairtrade Team and Pro balls being made at our factories in Sialkot, Pakistan. You can watch it here and download it from the Foundation’s Vimeo channel to use in class.
The Fairtrade Foundation Schools Team also have a very useful powerpoint presentation designed to accompany the video. Download it here.
