Although we’ve yet to actually win an award, Bala Sport is proud to have been shortlisted in two relevant competitions so far.
As a co-operative we are proud of our organisational structure and our 114 member investors in our community benefit society. We’re also very proud of the workers in Pakistan who make our balls, and it is them who deserve to be recognised for making great quality Fairtrade balls. There was strong competition in the Inspiring Co-operative category and we were pipped to the post by the Riverside Housing Co-operative who offer affordable housing.
We didn’t win this one either but it was an honour to have been shortlisted in the Glasgow Chamber of Commerce Inspiring City Awards. It’s through exposure and recognition through the spotlight shone from awards like these that we can raise awareness of our products and workers and impact on them by increased sales. We were excited to be up against our friends at Street Soccer Scotland and The Homeless World Cup, and we were delighted that the Homeless World Cup won. Bala Sport was Official Ball Partner of the 2016 HWC in Glasgow.
